Basic information

Journal history

Comuni@cción: Journal of investigación en Comunicación y Desarrollo was created in 2010 as the result of the 1st communication research seminar for teachers on the occasion of the anniversary of the creation of the Professional School of Social Communication Sciences. In volume 1, number 1, all the papers presented at the seminar were published, in the following numbers articles by researchers from other professional schools of the National University of the Altiplano and other universities in the country and abroad were published on a semester basis. To guarantee the periodicity of the publication, the area was extended to the social sciences, where there are important contributions at the level of different sub-areas. In this way, the magazine became a platform for the exchange of knowledge from different latitudes and sub-areas of Social Sciences. To support researchers, the journal is currently published quarterly, March, June, September and December.

Focus and scope

The journal publishes research results in the area of Social Sciences in original articles, as well as reviews and essays, for which it adopts the good practices of scientific publication and makes the best effort to comply with the COPE (ethics of the publication committee) and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

The scope of the journal covers topics of innovation and development in the area of Social Sciences:

Mission

The mission of Comuni@cción is to contribute with scientific knowledge in the areas of social sciences and their implications in reality, through the dissemination of articles, reviews and essays produced by internal and national researchers and those from others. countries.

Target Audience

The target audience is university professors, researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as professionals interested in obtaining in-depth knowledge in the area of social sciences from the scientific community.

Policies

Publication ethics

The Comuni@ccion journal promotes responsible conduct in research and rejects research malpractice. The use of ideas, texts, figures of other authors without giving the respective credit constitutes plagiarism; as well as, the fabrication, falsification of data and misconduct are frauds in the publication, so the journal Comuni@ccion does not tolerate any. In order to avoid publication fraud, the following ethical procedure mechanisms are established:

  • Review of texts using plagiarism detectors available on the network as a filter for the article evaluation process.

  • Peer opinion on the conformity of originality and quality of the article.

  • When an article is detected and confirmed after publication acts of plagiarism, fabrication, falsification of data and misconduct, will proceed according to the guidelines and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE http://publicationethics.org/), which could cause the withdrawal.

  • Articles published in the Comuni@cción journal may not be republished in other similar journals.

  • The journal will be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when necessary.

Open Access Policy

The Comuni@ccion journal provides open access to its free availability on the public Internet, which allows any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text of the articles, crawl them for indexing, incorporate them as data in software, or use them for any other purpose that is legal, without financial, legal or technical barriers other than those inseparable from Internet access itself, according to the statement "BUDAPEST OPEN ACCESS INITIATIVE".

Antiplagiarism Policy

The Comuni@cción: Revista de Investigación en Comunicación y Desarrollo uses software to detect text matches and similarity scores indicative of Turnitin. All articles showing signs of plagiarism will be returned to their authors without initiating the review process.

Preservation Policy

LOCKSS Open Journal Systems supports the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system that guarantees the journal a permanent and secure archive. LOCKSS is an open source program developed by the Stanford University Library that allows libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly searching registered journals to collect new published content and archive it. Each archive is continuously validated against records from other libraries, so any damaged or lost content can be restored using those records or the journal itself.

  • LOCKSS stores and distributes content from the Journal of Communi@ccion: Journal of Communication Research and Development to collaborating libraries through a LOCKSS Editorial Manifesto page.

CLOCKSS Open Journal Systems also supports the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to ensure a permanent and secure archive for the journal. CLOCKSS is based on the open source LOCKSS software developed at Stanford University Library, which allows libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly checking registered journal websites for recently published content and archiving it. Each archive is constantly validated against other library caches and, if it is detected that content has been corrupted or lost, the other caches or the journal are used to restore it.

  • CLOCKSS stores and distributes content from the Journal of Communi@accion: Journal of Communication Research and Development to participating libraries through the CLOCKSS Publisher Manifest page.
