Abstract

Objectives: To determine the knowledge, attitudes and signs about menopause in women from a district of the Peruvian altitudes. Material and Methods: A clinical inquest about knowledge, attitudes and signs of menopause to 40 to 50 years old women from a district of the Peruvian altitudes was perfocmed. Results: 90.72% of women evaluate refered that menopause is a natural change, with sensation of relief (85.56%) and frustration (69.07%) and signs of vasomotor changes majority (45.36%). 38.14% refered changes in her life styles. Conclusions: Menopause as a natural change, with a third with changes in life styles. (Rev Med Hered 2004; 15:24-29).
