Resumen

RUIZ GARCIA DE CHACON, Vilma Elizabeth  y  MAYANGA BECERRA, Jacinto Martín. Canalis sinuosus: report of four cases and literature review. Rev. Estomatol. Herediana [online]. 2017, vol.27, n.1, pp.39-43. ISSN 1019-4355.  http://dx.doi.org/10.20453/reh.v27i1.3101.

The Canalis sinuosus (CS) is an anatomical variant corresponding to a branch of the superior anterior alveolar canal. In relation to the nasopalatine duct, studies confirm the presence of channels within the jaw other than this. This variant is of interest to dentists, however, they are not very familiar with it. Access to Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) provides information that will impact surgical planning. On routine radiographs, many professionals, unaware of the presence of CS, identify it as a radiolucent image; being interpreted generalyas pathology. The presence of anatomical variants requires more knowledge, and CCBT allows an accurate localization of these repairs and their trajectory. The purpose of this article is to report 4 CS cases of asymptomatic patients from the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Service, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and carry out a review of the literature.
