DE MELLO, Irene Cristina e DAMASCENO RIBEIRO, Marcel Thiago. The adult young education and the chemistry education in Mato Grosso, Brazil. Rev. Soc. Quím. Perú [online]. 2009, vol.75, n.1, pp.123-129. ISSN 1810-634X.
This work fits into the framework of research that seeks to deepen the understanding and unveiling the reality of young people from the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) and its interaction with the chemical knowledge. We leave the problem surrounding the triad "Young, EJA and Teaching of Chemistry." This research is founded on the theoretical assumptions of authors who choose to study on the EJA, Youth and Education in Chemistry. The methodology was based on the contribution of qualitative perspective. The research subjects are the youth of the Phase III high school teacher of chemistry and the CEJA Cesario Neto in Cuiaba, Mato Grosso. The instruments used for data collection were two questionnaires and semi-structured interview. Among the results, it appears that the current valuation of scientific and technological development in growing the company, ownership of knowledge of chemistry becomes essential to the formation of critical citizens. Therefore, the teaching of chemistry should be focused on inter-relationship of two basic components: chemical knowledge and social context.
