KANESHIMA GONZALEZ, Kenyi et al. Effect of temperature on the growth of Juveniles of Oreochromis niloticus tilapia in an aquaculture exchange system (RAS). Manglar [online]. 2022, vol.19, n.1, pp.39-44.  Epub 15-Mar-2022. ISSN 1816-7667.  http://dx.doi.org/10.17268/manglar.2022.005.

The water temperature of the Oreochromis niloticus farming is a limiting factor for its development, it slows down its metabolism at low temperatures, affecting its physiological processes. The objective of this work is to compare the development of juvenile Oreochromis niloticus at different temperatures, determine the physicochemical parameters, and record growth in weight and length. The study had two treatments: A (TA) at 25 °C and B (TB) at 21 °C, biometric samplings were carried out to determine the total length and weight, the number of deaths was recorded daily to obtain the survival percentage and mortality, statistical evaluation was performed through ANAVA and Duncan. Dissolved Oxygen was 4.3 mg/l and 4.1 mg/l in each treatment; the pH was kept above 7. It was determined that the tilapia has an isometric growth through the statistical analysis of Length-Weight and the t-student test. Treatment A achieved better results in weight (13.49 g) and length (9.12 cm). The FCF was 1.4 and 2.1 in each treatment. The FCEs were 71.6 and 46.7% in each treatment. The highest mortality was registered with TD (14.68%). It was determined that there are no significant differences in the growth of length and weight of the fish at 21 °C and 25 °C.
