Abstract

ALVA, Verna. Revista de Neuro-Psiquiatría: reflections on its founders, their "laboratories" and its institutional history. Rev Neuropsiquiatr [online]. 2015, vol.78, n.2, pp.102-109. ISSN 0034-8597.

After a brief historical review, three aspects of the existence of the Revista de Neuro-Psiquiatría are examined, with occasional little known details about its founders, their immediate collaborators, their personal style characteristics, environmental settings in which they developed their clinical, teaching and research work, as well as the institutional background (university chairs, hospitals and professional organizations) that supported the publication from the start. Particular focus is paid to the role of Javier Mariátegui as Director-Editor, and reflections on the future of the Revista in the national and international medical editorial ambit, are formulated.
