The purpose of this article is to present a review of the concept of Mindfulness, its use in psychotherapy and clinical applications. Mindfulness is a meditation technique aimed at an objective observation of reality in the present without a judgmental attitude and with full openness andacceptance. There are therapies using Mindfulness within their structure and their programs, i.e.Dialectical BehavioralTherapy and Stress Reduction based on Mindfulness. Mindfulness has proved to be useful in a variety of mental and physical disorders such as stress, depression, anxiety disorders, eating behavior disorders, pain, cancer-related emotional conditions, etc. The practice of Mindfulness has also shown positive effects in the therapeutic relationship and in the provision of important skills for a good psychotherapeutic practice
