Neurocutaneous melanosis is a rare congenital disorder characterized by congenital cutaneous nevi and further involvement of the central nervous system. It occurs most commonly during childhood and rarely in adulthood. An unusual case of a 30-year-old man with neurocutaneous melanosis and subsequent intracranial melanoma, is presented. In conjunction with the skin findings of the physical examination, magnetic resonance imaging plays a crucial role in making the diagnosis of this clinical entity.
