Abstract

BOLIVAR-PAREDES, Eneida  and  VILLANUEVA-RUSKA, Alejandro. Validation and reliability of the AQ -27 Questionnaire on stigmatizing attitudes towards patients with schizophrenia, in a General Hospital - 2015. Rev Neuropsiquiatr [online]. 2017, vol.80, n.3, pp.165-171. ISSN 0034-8597.  http://dx.doi.org/10.20453/rnp.v80i3.3153.

Objectives: Pilot study aimed at the validation and reliability of a questionnaire that measures stigmatizing attitudes of workers of ageneral hospital towards patients with schizophrenia, as the basis for further development of a more elaborated research work. Material and methods: The validation process of the Attribution Questionnaire AQ-27,modified by the researchers, was first implemented through consultationswithfive experts on the subject of stigma, followed by its application to a random pilot sample of 25 hospital workers in the Emergency Department of the Hospital Nacional Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen (HNGAI), using simple random sampling; the scale used was the expert judge qualification, and the respective analysis was carried out by the coefficient V. of Aiken; reliability was determined by means of the Cronbach alpha coefficient. Results: An Aiken V. coefficient of 0.94 was obtained from the five expert judges consulted. The pilot sample, in turn, yielded a Cronbach alpha coefficient of 0.702. Conclusions: The AQ-27 questionnaire to measure stigmatizing attitudes in health workers was validated both in its content and in its internal consistency.
