Abstract
CASALA, María Belén and DELFINO, Gisela. Argentinian adaptation of the new Social Dominance Orientation scale (SDO7). Revista de Psicología [online]. 2021, vol.39, n.2, pp.553-587. ISSN 0254-9247. http://dx.doi.org/10.18800/psico.202102.003.
The present work adapted the seventh scale of Social Dominance in Argentina in its two versions: long (16 items) and short (eight items; Ho et al., 2015). The psychometric properties of the scale were studied and its factorial structure was evaluated. We analyzed differences in SDO based on sex, age, socioeconomic self-positioning and political orientation. We worked with a convenience sample (n = 1573, short scale; n = 590, long scale) between 18 and 60 years of age. The scale shows evidence of reliability consistent with the theory. The factor analysis confirms the bifactorial structure of the scale, finding two dimensions: SDO-Dominance and SDO-Egalitarianism. A positive correlation was found between right-wing political self-positioning and SDO.
