Abstract

ESCOUBAS, Éliane. Myth, logos, epos are the word’ (Heidegger). arete [online]. 2009, vol.21, n.2, pp.401-410. ISSN 1016-913X.

This paper deals with two volumes of Heidegger’s work: the 1942 lecture course on Parmenides and the 1950-59 compilation On the Way to Language. The Parmenides course works on the Greek terms mythos, logos and epos, and determines them as "the same" -which doesn’t necessarily relate to identity. In their differences, they remit to the "word" (das Wort). Several years later, the "word" is invoked under the triple denomination of Sprache, Wort and Sage, which do not depend, in themselves, on any logic of identity, but on a logic of "tautology", which is poetry itself.

Keywords : Heidegger; myth; logos; epos; word; Sprache, Wort, Sage.
