Abstract

MANZI, Hernán. Historicity and History in its Own Modality. arete [online]. 2016, vol.28, n.1, pp.127-142. ISSN 1016-913X.

Paul Ricoeur’s critique of the hierarchization of temporality in Being and Time leads us to the analysis of the possibility and permanence of authenticity (Eigentlichkeit) for everyday Dasein at the level of historicity. For Heidegger, this modality allows an authentic history (Historie), that differs from traditional historiography, in the vital use Dasein makes of the former. The influence of Friedrich Nietzsche’s critical history is crucial here. Along this path, we also observe the problem of the mobility of existence (expressed in the image of the whirlwind) from both the ontological and the epistemic points of view.

Keywords : historicity; history; authenticity; motion; everydayness.
