We know that the Burnout´s Syndrome is a main cause of unfaithful in health professionals. Little has investigated in our country, however, we believe that it is present and in increase. Objective: Identify health workers with Burnout´s Syndrome and contribute with epidemiological characteristics of it. Material and methods: We gave the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) to the health workers of the hospitals of an industrial mining from Peru. Results: We received 82 (63%) questionnaires, of which, 26 were medical doctors, 35 nurses and 21 auxiliary nursing. Only a physician presented high values in emotional weariness and depersonalization and low in low personal accomplishment. Conclusions: We found a doctor with Burnout´s Syndrome diagnosis, which was characterized by the early development of the syndrome and not associated with work shifts. In addition, we conclude that should investigate Burnout in public health institution (Rev Med Hered 2005;16:233-238).
