Abstract

VASQUEZ KOBASHIGAWA, Julio et al. Thymectomy: a therapeutic option in the management of myasthenia gravis. Experience at the Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo. Rev Med Hered [online]. 2006, vol.17, n.4, pp.250-253. ISSN 1018-130X.

Thymectomy is a therapeutic option in the management of myasthenia gravis (MG). Although controversy still exists about its indications and timing for the operation, it remains as a safe and effective procedure for the treatment of MG. Here, we review our experience with this operation in patients with the disease, and compare our results with those of the literature.

Keywords : Myasthenia gravis; thymectomy; surgical treatment.
