Abstract

MANCILLA MANCILLA, Luis. Synovial chondromatosis of the shoulder. Rev Med Hered, July-set. 2007, vol.18, no.3, p.161-164. ISSN 1018-130X.

Synovial osteochondromatosis is an idiophatic, benign metaplasia of synovial membrane. Manifestations are related to these intra-articular free bodies and excessive physical activity may cause this condition to become syntomatic and potentially cause degenerative arthropathy. A 32-year-old man reported pain in his left shoulder, the radiography showed "the snow storm" sign, he was treated by surgery and the pathology study reveled synovial osteochondromatosis. (Rev Med Hered 2007;18:161-164).

Keywords: Synovial chondromatosis; shoulder; "snow storm" sign.
