Abstract

MIRANDA NOE, David; MEDINA PALOMINO, Félix  and  SALINAS ARCE, Jorge. Brugada syndrome: A case report and review. Rev Med Hered [online]. 2009, vol.20, n.4, pp.225-229. ISSN 1018-130X.

Since its first description the Brugada Syndrome has attracted great scientific interest because it is a cause of sudden death. We show the case of a man 45 years old who arrived to our hospital in cardiac arrest. During hospitalization he was diagnosed with Brugada Syndrome. He received an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator as definitive treatment. We highlight the importance of being aware of the classic electrocardiographic pattern and considering this channelopathy in the differential diagnosis of cardiac arrest. (Rev Med Hered 2009;20:225-229)

Keywords : Brugada Syndrome; sudden death; implantable cardioverter-defibrillator.
