Abstract

GRANADOS-CARRERA, Julio César. Effect of physiotherapy in a patient with quadriplegia due to a medullar ependymoma. Rev Med Hered [online]. 2014, vol.25, n.3, pp.149-152. ISSN 1018-130X.

Physiotherapy improves functional capacity in patients with neurologic involvement, identifying limitations induced by neurologic lesions and applying kinetic techniques. We describe the effects of physiotherapy in a patient with medullar ependymoma that did not undergo surgical intervention. Physiotherapy improved postural control and equilibrium achieving independent functionality in basic daily activities.

Keywords : Physical therapy modalities; abnormal reflex; ependymoma.
