Abstract
VARGAS MURGA, Horacio. Violence against women by their partners and its relationship with their teenagers’ mental health. Rev Med Hered [online]. 2017, vol.28, n.1, pp.48-58. ISSN 1018-130X. http://dx.doi.org/10.20453/rmh.v28i1.3074.
A review of national and international scientific literature is presented, as well as technical papers about violence against women by their partners and its relationship with their teenagers’ mental health. General aspects are discussed as an introduction and then information about the epidemiology of violence against women, violence against women by their partners, the effects of violence against women, the effects on the mental health of the woman victim, the effects on the mental health of their children, later to focus on the effects on the mental health of teenagers. Interventions to control violence against women are proposed and the conclusions and recommendations are presented. It is concluded that violence against women by their partners is a public health problem that not only affects the mental health of the victim but also that of their children, whether or not exposed to violence. We recommend further studies on the subject, to know the relationship of violence against women by their partners with the mental health of teenagers, with a view to implementing prevention and intervention programs further.
