Abstract

Is present the report of two cases in patients who had loss of sensitivity subsequent oral surgery procedures. The first case corresponds to the lingual nerve paresthesia on the right side with two weeks of evolution and the second case paresthesia of the mental nerve on the left side with a time of evolution of 9 days. To determine the degree of sensory perception employ a mechanical test with nylon thread and / or brush, and quantified using a visual analog numerical scale from 0 to 10 (VAS). Both cases quantified “0” in assessing the degree of perception. Laser therapy low power (TLBP) was applied using a computer diode laser mark DMC Therapy XT, program 3Jouls / cm2 30sg by point contact type perpendicular and in total 10 applications following the path of the affected nerve for each case. In the tenth session, the recovery was complete with a VAS grade 10 in the various sectors of the tongue and in the second case, the recovery was equivalent to approximately 80% with VAS grade 8 in the tenth session. The TLBP stands out as a non-invasive and effective method, being a therapeutic modality used for regeneration of injured nerve tissue. The purpose of this article is to describe the management and demonstrate the effectiveness of TLBP in two clinical cases presented paresthesia postsurgical who were treated at the Service Special Patient of Stomatology Central Clinic of the University Cayetano Heredia in 2015.
