Abstract

MELENDEZ, Diego; SOLAR, Cesar; DELGADO-COTRINA, Leyla  and  YILENG TAY, Lidia. Outside bleaching in discolored teeth: a case series. Rev. Estomatol. Herediana [online]. 2023, vol.33, n.3, pp.267-272.  Epub Sep 23, 2023. ISSN 1019-4355.  http://dx.doi.org/10.20453/reh.v33i3.4946.

Discoloration of teeth is a common clinical issue in dental practice, often posing an aesthetic concern that may impact the patient's self-esteem. While the internal bleaching technique usually offers favorable long-term outcomes, situations arise where chamber opening is not viable. In such instances, this case report highlights the application of external bleaching through both in-office and at-home methods. These techniques were employed to address darkened teeth, successfully restoring their natural color using a minimally invasive approach.

Keywords : teeth whitening; teeth discoloration; hydrogen peroxide.
