Hepatitis A one of the most frequently extended liver infections in the word, specially in developing countries, in now a vaccine preventable disease with a safety and inmunogenic inactivated vaccine. In this paper, we review of epidemiological changing patterns of hepatitis A, vaccine develop, recommendation for use of hepatitis A vaccine, and the effect of HAV infection on chronic liver disease patients and the results of vaccination in this kind of patients Conclusions: The inactivated vaccine against hepatitis A is safe and immunogenic in health people as well as in patients with mild to moderate chronic liver disease without descompensation, but vaccination has unciertain efficacy in patients with advanced cirrhosis and in liver transplant recipients.
