Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is a systemic vasculitis of the small vessels of the skin, joints, gastrointestinal tract and kidneys. It is the most common cause of nonthrombocytopenic purpura in children, but may also occur in adults. Gastrointestinal symptoms and disease occurs in up to 85% of patients and can be of varying intensity. We report a 12-year-old boy with gastrointestinal bleeding due to duodenal involment associated with this condition evidenced by endoscopy.
