Abstract
ALVAREZ, Ricardo. Daniel Carrión-García's paternal ancestry. An. Fac. med. [online]. 2008, vol.69, n.3, pp.206-211. ISSN 1025-5583.
Daniel Carrion Garcia, Peruvian medicine martyr and national hero, had ancient Peruvian roots by his Peruvian maternal line, but his father was purely Ecuadorian descent. The Carrions were one of the most prominent families in the city of Loja, to the extent that in 1830, the election of the first President of the Republic of Ecuador, one of the two candidates was Manuel Carrion. The political participation of the family continued in the following years and one of its members, Dr. Jose Baltazar Carrion y Torres, father of Daniel, joined his destiny to that of General Juan Jose Flores, who unfortunately fell in disgrace, had to go into exile and dragged the Carrions to Peru. Our goal is to contribute on the knowledge of Daniel Carrion-Garcias paternal ancestry.
