Adaptation and validation of an instrument to measure university students’ attitudes towards artificial intelligence. Revista de Comunicación [online]. 2024, vol.23, n.2, pp.125-142. The article aims to adapt and validate an instrument to measure students’ attitudes towards artificial intelligence developed by Schepman and Rodway (2020). This is due to the lack of sufficient instruments at the time of this research that could collect valuable information for designing educational interventions tailored to these specific attitudes. A quantitative and descriptive research was conducted with 411 students from seventeen universities in Peru. The instrument consists of 32 items evaluating both positive and negative attitudes towards AI. The hypothesis tested was that the Schepman and Rodway (2020) instrument would demonstrate high reliability after being adapted and validated in the Peruvian context. Following adjustments, improvements in the instrument’s values were observed. The results indicate that the overall reliability of the instrument was acceptable with values ranging between 0.806 and 0.938 depending on the dimensions considered.
