Abstract

IANNACONE, José  and  ALVARINO, Lorena. Diversity of terrestial arthropofauna from the Junin Natural Reserve, Peru. Ecol. apl. [online]. 2006, vol.5, n.1-2, pp.171-174. ISSN 1726-2216.

Terrestrial arthropofauna at Pari and Ondores, at the Junín Natural Reserve, Peru, was assessed using: (1) pit fall traps and (2) ultraviolet light-traps. For arthropofauna, alpha and beta diversity were calculated. Terrestrial arthropofauna captured were assigned to trophic guilds. Nine families were found. The soil traps with carcass captured the highest quantity of specimens, with Collembola Order as the most frequent. Decomposer’s level was the most predominant. We conclude that rapid biodiversity assessment (RBA) at the Junín National Reserve is relatively low for terrestrial arthropofauna.

Keywords : biodiversity; Collembola; conservation; insects; Junín Lake.
