Abstract

This paper presents the study of the dendrology, geographical distribution and status of conservation of U. guianensis (Aubl.) J.F. Gmel. and U. tomentosa (Willd. ex Roem. & Schult.) DC. of medicinal application, occurring in the State of Acre, Brazil. This research consisted in collecting botanical material, surveys and the study of botany samples in Brazilian and other South American herbaria, complemented by a bibliographical review of those species in published and specialized sites. Morphological descriptions, illustrations, mapping of the species and the determination of the population status of both species are also presented.
