Abstract

ZAPATA ORTIZ, Vicente. Acción de la cocaína en sujetos no habituados. Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 1944, vol.3, n.4, pp.307-316. ISSN 1726-4634.

The effects of a cocaine dose of 1 to 3.5 mgrs. per Kgr. of weight, has been studied in a group of non-addicted individuals. A very slight increase in temperature was observed, increase which may reach a sub-fever state with the larger doses. The modification in pulse, blood pressure and breathing are unimportant and are relatively weaker than the same factors observed in habituated individuals. An increase in the spinal reflexes was also observed, as well as a modification in certain neurovegetative reflexes, and only in certain cases, slight modifications in mental activity.
