Abstract
HERRER, Arístidis. Supervivencia de la Bartonella Bacilliformis en la sangre coagulada de los enfermos de verruga. Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 1948, vol.7, n.1-4, pp.70-74. ISSN 1726-4634.
In a series, of observations carried out in 8 cases of human bartonellosis (Carrión's disease or Verruga peruana) it has been possible to, isolate Bartonella bacilloformis from blood samples taken without any anticoagulant and kept at temperatures between 18 an 28ºC. Survival of Bartonella bacilliformis under these conditions has been ascertained by pure culture studies and in one case up to 174 days after y withdrawing the blood sample from the patient.
