SOUSA IGLESIAS, Aurelio  and  SOUSA CASTANEDA, Alejandro. Vacuna antivariólica liofilizada: Observaciones sobre su potencia conservada a la temperatura ambiente y a la de 37°C. Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 1955, vol.9, n.1-2, pp.17-21. ISSN 1726-4634.

1. The National Institute of Hygiene and Public Health produces at the present time lyophilized anti-smallpox vaccine. The effectiveness of this vaccine has been confirmed in more than 370.000 inoculations made by an agency different from that producing the vaccine. 2. The lyophilized vaccine has been observed under experimental conditions at room temperature and at 37°C during a period of 22 months. Potency was maintained throughout this period. Because of this quality, this type of vaccine has advantages in countries with variable climates and with areas remote from centers of communication. Once again the superiority of Iyophilized vaccine over gIycerinated vaccine has been demonstrated.
