Abstract

HERRER, Arístides. Trypanosomiasis americana en el Perú: II. Repercusión del uso del DDT en la incidencia de la enfermedad de Chagas en algunos valles de la región sudoccidental. Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 1955, vol.9, n.1-2, pp.38-43. ISSN 1726-4634.

In studies carried out during the early months of 1952 in the southwestern area of Pern, infested by Triatoma infestans, it was observed that: 1. The anti-malarial campaigns carried out on the basis of application of DDT by the Ministry of Public Health, between 1948 and 1951, had marked results on the infestation by the triatoma.  2. The incidence of Chagas'Disease in the human population had been markedly reduced as a consequence of the anti-malarial campaigns.
