After reviewing various matters related to the introduction of Triatoma infestans, in Peru, which possibly occurred about 1880, and its subsequent dissemination throughout the southwestern area, there is introduced the possibility of eradication of the insect. In this matter, principal consideration is given to the special topography of the infested area, and also to the habits of the insect and the manner of its dispersion throughout the valIeys of the southwestern area of Peru.
