Abstract
GONZALES-MUGABURU, Luis. Encuesta de parásitos intestinales en 615 escolares del Rímac. Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 1956, vol.10, n.2, pp.147-152. ISSN 1726-4634.
The microscopical examination of one, stool in each of 615 school children of the Rimac district has shown: 1. The high percentage of intestinal protozoa (79.8%) found suggests great fecal contamination. 2. The great frequency of H. nana 166 (27.0%) presents a problem that should be given consideration. 3. The finding of Strongyloides stercoralis and Ancylostoma or Necator only in individuals that had spent some time in the peruvian jungle, suggests once more that these parasites are not transmitted in this part of the peruvian coast. 4. The presence of three cases of Isospora belli indicates that this coccidia is much more frequent than it was supposed.
