In Huacho, a small town on the coast of Peru, 130 kilometers north, of Lima, a survey has been made for Enterobius vermicularis in children up to 11 years of age, using the single "scotch tape" technique. The results showed a general incidence of 32.8 per cent infestation. The infestation rate was higher (44.8%) in school children than in the pre-school group (28.2%) . The incidence of 1 .8 per cent in children under one year of age increased up to 14, 26 and 34 per 'cent in children of one, two and three years of age, respectively. In children older than three years the incidence was maintained at over 40 per rent. There was no difference in the incidence with respect to sex.
