Abstract

TORRES-PORTUGAL, Manuel  and  CAMPOS, Erika. Encuesta de parasitosis intestinal en niños de edad pre escolar en la ciudad de Arequipa. Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 1960, vol.13, n.1-2, pp.67-76. ISSN 1726-4634.

Between 1956 and 1958, the authors have carried out a survey in conriection with intestinal parasitism in children of 0-6 years old in the city of Arequipa. The principal results obtained were: 1. Feces of 1418 children were studied, from which 1152 (81.2%) were positive. 2. The incidence of protozoon parasites (79.9%) was higher that of helminths (15.4%). 3. E. histolytica shows an incidence of 3.4%; G. lamblia, 18.9%; and H. nana, 11.4 %. 4. It is discussed the incidence of intestinal parasites in relation to the geographic regions of Perú.
