Abstract

VALLE TOLEDO, Jorge. Evaluación entomológica en el Valle del Río Apurímac (noviembre de 1996). Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 1997, vol.14, n.1, pp.55-56. ISSN 1726-4634.

The study reports results obtained from an entomologial assessment carried out in November 1996 in communities on both sides of the Apurimac River. A total of sixty-eight hourly collections were performed. These included: 52 Anopheles mosquitoes: A. pseudopunctipennis (n=28, 53,8%); A. evansae (n=20, 38,5%) and A. mediopunctatus (n=4, 7,7%). A general man-hour-index of 6,6 mosquitoes/man/night and 0,5 mosquitoes/man/hour were obtained. The most important rearing sites for Anopheles larvae were canals on roofs of houses, farm land and filtration wells.
