VASQUEZ, Lucy et al. Frecuencia de micobacterias en pacientes VIH+. Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 1997, vol.14, n.2, pp.51-53. ISSN 1726-4634.
This study was conducted in order to determine the prevalence of M. tuberculosis in HIV-related mycobacterium isolates and their sensibility to antituberculous drugs. A total of 22 isolates were evaluated bettween 1990 and 1994 at the Laboratorio Nacional de Referencia de Tuberculosis of the Instituto Nacional de Salud in Lima. M. tuberculosis was identified by means of morfologic evidence and enzimatic and biochemical test. An economic varland of the Proportion Method was used for testing the sensibility to antituberculous drugs. Prevalence of M. tuberculosis among HIV-related mycobacterium isolates was 100% and 43% of them were resistant to one or more antituberculous drugs. There were 18% multiresistant strains to both INH-RFP We conclude, there is a high resistence of M. tuberculosis to the antituberculous drugs studied.
