New achievements related to the typing of Helicobacter pylori through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), using as a target of characterization the toxin associated with vacuolization gene and the pathogenicity island (Cag) are shown in this study. Referential and clinical strains were taken from 17 patients with symptoms of Helicobacter pylori infection and the findings confirmed the results obtained in previous researches, since it was possible to achieve strain typing using these genes.
