This is a review about the major studies related to HIV-Human interaction in genetic, molecular and immunological. In the same way, some highlights of the current progress in AIDS therapy are mentioned. Finally, some experimental strategies to be applied in the Peruvian setting that might allow to answer some questions about human and viral factors implicated on transmission and progression of the disease are suggested.
