To report an influenza outbreak based on the notification of a possible outbreak of respiratory infection by Nueva Requena Health Center in Pucallpa. Cross sectional analytical study including persons with fever and at least two related symptoms for 72 hours. Nasal-pharyngeal swabs were taken, in order to determine the presence of influenza A, influenza B, adenovirus, parainfluenza, and syncytial respiratory virus infection using indirect immounofluorescence. 14 samples were collected. The most frequently reported symptoms were fever (92,8%), rinorrhea (92,8%) and cough (42,8%). Influenza B and Parainfluenza 2 were detected in 5 cases. The diagnoses found were in accordance with those reported in the national literature. It is necessary to implement a surveillance system, improving prevention and control, decentralizing laboratory diagnoses, and performing educational campaigns in the population.
