SALAZAR E, Valentín; FIGUEROA C, Roxana y MACHACA T, Rosmary. Variación del estado nutricional de los beneficiarios del programa pantbc en Arequipa metropolitana, 1996 - 2002. Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 2005, vol.22, n.2, pp.134-138. ISSN 1726-4634.
Registries from Alimentation and Nutritional Program for Ambulatory Tuberculosis Patients & Families (PANTBC) in Metropolitan Arequipa in order to assess nutritional status variations in beneficiary patients 15 to 65 years old between July 1996 and June 2002. Out of 2083 beneficiary patients, 1935 were included (92,25%) who finished antituberculous therapy and in whom three nutritional assessments were performed. 56,28% of all patients were male. Therapy schedules I, II, and III were administered to 82,38, 10,80, and 6,82% patients, respectively. According to body mass index measurements, beneficiaries generally improved their nutritional status, and most of them finished with normal body weight (64,53% to 84,75%). Variations in nutritional status were not associated with sex nor with therapy schedule.
