SOTOMAYOR, Renzo. Globalization and responsibility from developing countries: the case of health professional migration. Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 2007, vol.24, n.3, pp.300-306. ISSN 1726-4634.

The globalization is an irreversible world-wide process of interaction without barriers from the individuals characterized by the use of information technologies that accentuates the brain drain of human resources in health. The brain drain is the product of the interaction between push factors: low salaries and motivation, dangerous conditions of work, etc. and pull factors: better salaries, better labor and life conditions, etc. The human resources of a country are one of its more valuable and expensive resources. The objective of the present essay is to point out that countries and their institutions must understand that they are competing against each other for the best professionals, so it is necessary to analyze the causes of brain drain and to apply the corrective measures for not loosing them, specially the youngest ones.
