SOTO-CACERES, Víctor. Registrati on quality of death certificat es in public hospital from Chiclayo, Peru 2006. Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 2008, vol.25, n.3, pp.330-332. ISSN 1726-4634.
We evaluated the quality of the filling of death certificates that stretch in the National Hospital "Almanzor Aguinaga Ausejo" from Chiclayo (Peruvian Northern Coast). We reviewed all the certificates issued between July and September 2006 (n = 287), describing them as good, regular, bad and very bad. Only 33.8% had a good filling and 44.6% were bad (99) or very bad (29). Intensive care (61.2%) and internal medicine (41.4%) had the highest percentage of good certified, while those of poor quality were issued more frequently in pediatric and neonatal services (88.9% ), surgery and related (55.6%), medical specialties (50.0%) and emergency (42.5%). It is necessary to implement training strategies in the filling of death certificates for physicians.
