Abstract

CARTES-VELASQUEZ, Ricardo  and  NAVARRETE BRIONES, Claudia. Research from primary health-care level: the Küme Mongüen Pewenche Experience. Horiz. Med. [online]. 2014, vol.14, n.3, pp.19-23. ISSN 1727-558X.

Research in primary health-care (PHC) persists as a debt of profound implications on the family-health model across the world, there are multiple causes and many countries are developing strategies to address it. However, in Chile is an unconsidered matter. Objective: to present the experience of the research project Küme Mongüen Pewenche conducted in rural, indigenous and poor PHC, which aim to determine the prevalence and associations of cardiovascular diseases in Alto BioBio. Material and Methods: It also identifies opportunities and constraints in order to guide the implementation of programs to strengthen research in urban and rural primary health-care centers, not to do research "in" PHC, but "from" and "to" the PHC. Results: Large commitment of health professionals. Conclusions: The commitment and curiosity of health professionals represent an essential input for research in PHC.
