Abstract

LEON, Blanca. Eremolepidaceae endemic of Peru . Rev. peru biol. [online]. 2006, vol.13, n.2, pp.284-284. ISSN 1727-9933.

The Eremolepidaceae are represented in Peru by two genera and three species (Brako & Zarucchi, 1993), all of them parasitic trees. Here we recognize one endemic species in the genus Lepidoceras. This taxon grows in the upper limits of the Mesoandean region, between 3500 and 3600 m elevation. It has not yet been found in any of Peru´s protected areas system.

Keywords : Eremolepidaceae; Lepidoceras; Peru; endemism; endemic plants.
