Resumen

GUTIERREZ, Félix Walter et al. Dietary protein utilization by fingerling of gamitana Colossoma macropomum, fed with isocaloric diets. Rev. peru biol. [online]. 2010, vol.17, n.2, pp.219-223. ISSN 1727-9933.

An experiment was conducted to examine effects of five levels of dietary protein (25, 27, 29, 31 y 33%) on performance by the gamitana, Colossoma macropomum Cuvier 1818. The parameters measured were weight gain (WG), food conversion (Fe), retained protein (RP), protein efficiency ratio (PER), and retained energy (RE). To prepare the experimental diets were used as protein sources anchovy meal and soybean meal, and as energy sources yellow corn, wheat bran and oil fish. Were found significant differences (P<O.05) between diets to the parameters WG, RP, PER, and RE. Were no found significant differences to FC. The best performances were obtained when gamitanas were fed with 25, 27 and 33% of crude protein. Also was found a negative relationship between the PER and the dietary protein level. Taking in account the protein costs on the diet, it was concluded that feeding gamitana with dietaries levels of 25 or 27% of crude protein and 2.7 kcal of ED/g, will guarantee its successful growing.
