Abstract

The Daniel Alcides Carrion is the paradigmatic icon, martyr, hero, teacher and patron of the Peruvian Medicine; honor and merit awarded by eminent teachers and savants of the Peruvian Medicine during the XIX, XX and XXI centuries, which together have brought glory to Medicine in Peru and it is meritorious to disclose her achievement and sacrifice for example of new generations. By a twist of fate, Carrion born in the century of independence in Peru, and in the age of discoveries in humanity. The concept of life, with the «theory of evolution of species», of Darwin, and the concept of diseases, with the «germs theory», of Pasteur, were radically modified. And Carrion, despite his young age, was directly involved in these changes, at the cost of his life, without seeking any reward. That act makes her deserve of eternal recognition, not only of Peru, but of hu manity, because it is as an example to build a better world.
