This special paper aims to show the norms and regulations prepared by Peruvian institutions with respect to quality control of the tests performed in clinical laboratories. We also emphasize the importance of the responsibility of both managers and personnel from the labs, with respect to deliver reliable results with good quality, which may allow proper decision making for health care professionals and perform timely interventions for patients, with the benefit of a good diagnosis, monitoring and therapy
