Abstract

The results of an exploratory study are expressed to know the degree of social and political participation that have boys and girls from the city of Cordoba, Argentina, in which were conducted 200 semi-structured interviews, to boys and girls from 9 to 11 years old, of a middle socioeconomic level residing in the city. The results indicate low levels of social and political participation with a strong presence of social activities of religious cut, above other types of participation. A qualitative analysis about the reasons that children brought in relationship with its absence of participation is also conducted. Based on the results it has been observed in practices and children’s speech reproduction statements discrediting them as subjects of rights capable of political action. This situation makes it impossible for the protagonist emergence of the children in the public area.
