Abstract

SALAZAR, Wilfredo et al. Phytochemical study and antihelmintic activity of Euphorbia huanchahana and Baccharis salicifolia extracts. Rev. Soc. Quím. Perú [online]. 2007, vol.73, n.3, pp.150-157. ISSN 1810-634X.

The antihelmintic activity of the aqueous extracts of Euphorbia huanchahana was evaluated. High percentage of efficacy against the oxyuris Syphacia obvelata and Aspiculuris tetraptera was obtained. Baccharis salicifolia showed a dose-dependent effect against the Syphacia obvelata and this is constant for the other oxyuri species. The root of Euphorbia huanchahana presents saponines, tannins, steroids, cumarins, sesquiterpenlactones and cardiotonics. The aerial part of Baccharis salicifolia presents alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, anthraquinones and cardiotonics.

Keywords : antihelmintic; oxyuris; enterovius; euphorbia; baccharis.
