Abstract

LOPEZ MILLA, Alcides  and  SANTIAGO CONTRERASA, Julio. Fractographic and microcrystalline study of Nasca ceramics paste. Rev. Soc. Quím. Perú [online]. 2008, vol.74, n.1, pp.20-29. ISSN 1810-634X.

The fractographic and microcrystalline study of the paste of 10 samples from Nasca pottery is reported. The fractographic study, using a stereo microscope (x20), indicates that during the phase V of Nasca evolution the highest level of technique was reached. Illite was detected by transmission electron microscope and electron diffraction, suggesting the firing temperature in the preparation of the ceramics did not exceed 800ºC.

Keywords : ceramics; Nasca; paste; transmission electronic microscopy .
